Strength & conditioning zone
Fixed Resistance
VO2 Fitness Studio is fitted with state-of-the-art Gym 80 Sygnum kit, a very durable and user-friendly range of strength equipment. Our range includes the dual equipment for added training benefits and equipment for all the major muscle groups.
Freemotion
We have an extensive range of Freemotion cable equipment. The range includes a cable crossover, dual stack cable crossover, lat pulldown, row, chest press and shoulder press. Freemotion is extremely versatile equipment allowing the user to be as specific as their training requires.
Free Weights
Our free weights range from 2Kg to 50Kg. Within this area we also house 2 flat Olympic benches, 1 incline Olympic bench, a squat rack, deadlift platform, Eleiko training bar and bumper plates, Smith machine, plate-loaded leg press, fixed weight barbells and a preacher curl bench. In addition to this there are 2 further sets of dumbbells (1-10Kg) in other areas of the fitness studio.
Functional Training
The functional training options available to you are fantastic whether you need a specific movement pattern on the cables, or choose to use our functional area kitted out with BOSUs, stability balls, medicine balls, 1-10Kg dumbbells, stretch mate and mats.
Cardiovascular zone
Precor ‘Experience’
We are proud of our extensive and entertaining cardiovascular zones within the VO2 Fitness Studio. We have two areas fully equipped with Precor Experience treadmills, cross trainers, upright and recumbent cycles, steppers and the brand new Adaptive Motion Trainers. We also have a great range of Concept2 rowers, 2 Keiser M3 spin bikes and a SciFit Pro Series upper body ergometer.
CardioTheatre
We take training entertainment very seriously. Our two areas host a variety of viewing options ranging from a choice of 4 channels showing sport, news, entertainment and music that are displayed on 42” plasma screens to the personal viewing screens on some of our Precor kit that show 14 channels. Some personal viewing screens also have Personal Entertainment Players attached so you can plug in your MP3/MP4 player or iPod and watch your own favourite music or programme downloads.
